Malu, god of life and death

Among the Quinate, there is one who reignes supreme over the cycle of life and death. His was named Malu, and he was a powerful and enigmatic deity who was gifted by the Almighty, sway over the very essence of existence. His touch used to bring warmth and joy to the firstborn but ever since Malu rebelled against the Almighty, his touch is said to be as cold as the embrace of death itself.   As the god of life and death, Malu is said to still have some power to both give and take life within the domain of Erlin. He presides over the natural cycle of birth and death, and his touch could bring swift and painless release to those whose time has come.   The linish revere him as a wise and compassionate deity, offering comfort and guidance to those who mournes the loss of loved ones. In addition to his role as a harbinger of death, Malu is also a god of rebirth and renewal. His teachings claim that death is not an end, but a transformation, and that he has the power to bring new life from the ashes of the old.   As the king of the Quinate, malue is a powerful and mysterious deity, feared and revered in equal measure. He is said to be the third strongest deity amongst the three Ferratharian religions and is not a god to be trifled with, but for those who seek to understand the delicate balance of life and death, he was a teacher and a guide.   Malu is the predominant power and wisdom of the Erlin gods. Malu was granted dominion over birth and the spawning of immortal life by the Almighty during creation. But when he rebelled and lead mankind to worship him instead, his powers have become a mocking imitation of what they used to be. All life that Malu creates decays from the moment of conception when the Almighty took his power away from Malu. Malu wards off inevitable death from his devout followers for a time and brings death quicker upon those he deems wicked. This gives him the appearance of a god who is master over life and death but in reality can only slow down decay.

Divine Goals & Aspirations

Malu will eventually seek to break free from his prison in Croya with the rest of the delari deities and return to Ferrathar to rule over the mortal men once more as they did in the first era. The life essence of his worshippers are added to his strength over the centuries just as a hatchling consumes the nutrients in its egg before gathering enough strength to break out.
