Session 50 - The Homecoming to Aleksandrovka Under Assault

General Summary

After defeating the undead horseman, it was determined it should be burned but the wood in the vicinity was too wet. Marina was forced to use the flask of oil she had on her and the party did not stay to see if it was completely destroyed as they were under pressure from the builders to leave the cursed place.
The party that continued to Aleksandrovka, reaching it by nightfall only to find it also under attack by the undead. Ivan  and Dukh  took the lead while the others hung back with the builders on the other side of the bridge into town. A group of villagers were seen fleeing into the nunnery so Marina decided to lead a group of builders there. However the gate was shut before they could reach it. Agnessa used magic to climb the gate in an attempt to persuade them to open it again with no luck. Ivan, after defeating a number of undead, suggested the two builders that accompanied them flee back across the bridge. Confusion ensued. Agnessa was able to create an illusion of a cross and a booming voice to deceive the villagers hiding in the nunnery to open the gate while Ivan fended off another undead horseman. The party fled inside the gates.
As they did, Sister Evdokia emerged and used an icon to turn some of the undead including the horseman. She and Agnessa argued, and Evdokia revealed the undead had been frequently attacking the village ever since Ivan left two months ago. While this was happening, Groump, Nadia and Emil were with the builders still on the other side of the bridge. The party created a distraction with a chicken and an unseen servant and eliminated the last few undead outside the gate to clear a path for them to join the others inside the walls of the nunnery. The chicken cleverly avoided the undead and was set to live a long and happy life until Groump mistook it for an enemy and tragically killed her by mistake. RIP.
After the dust had settled, the party enjoyed a meal in the nunnery. Evdokia inquired about Dukh's presence and from her he learned about the location of Light-Heart demise. Duhk wanted to head there immediately but was persuaded to wait until the next day. After that Ivan told Evdokia what had happened to him since leaving the village and the fates of his traveling companions. Upon hearing that Marina had arranged a marriage for Ivan, Evdokia pulled Marina aside for a private discussion.
