Sepphek Kaltro engages in a series of monthly murders across Kalte . Katelynn draws the connection and enlists the The Antiquarian Association to investigate. They investigate and confront Sepphek Kaltro , and Sepphek Kaltro is killed in the ensuing combat.

After the various town speakers of Kalte negotiated a truce with the Ice Witches of Kalte , many towns agreed to offer up monthly sacrifices to Auril. Shortly after these sacrifices began, a string of murders began in the towns of Targos , Ljuk , and Easthaven .

Since the murders were spread across three towns, and many were camouflaged appeared as mundane events, it was years before anyone noticed a pattern. Katelynn noticed a pattern and reported it to multiple sheriffs but her warnings were disregarded. In November of 5096, she discussed her thoughts with The Antiquarian Association .

The party was sure to spend time in Ljuk following the monthly sacrifice at the end of the year. Within a week, Roland DuBoise was found dead. The party investigated and found evidence linking the past murders to Torrga Icevein 's travelling shop. After surveilling Torrga Icevein and Sepphek Kaltro , they found them trading a holy symbol of Kai . They took their evidence to Shoshanna .

Upon confronting Sepphek Kaltro , he admitted to working with the Ice Witches of Kalte in hunting down individuals who had paid their way out of being sacrificed to Auril . The party killed Sepphek Kaltro , and have kept the evidence of the wealthy evading their chance to be sacrificed to themselves.
