Caverns of Kalte, Book #3
Due to unknown environmental effect, Kalte suffers a devastating loss of plant life, leading to a chain reaction of ecological devastation. This culminates in a great famine for the Reghed Tribes of Kalte . This leads to great loss of life mitigated only by the support efforts of Sommerlund and Durenor .
Silva, a member of the Ice Witches of Kalte ,harasses, and is finally slain by loggers from Lonelywood .
The clouds thicken over time and come to blot out the sun, leading to thickening of the ice shelf south of Kalte . This effectively isolates Kalte from the rest of Magnamund except for four months of the year during summer. The sun ceases to shine brightly on the Tundra and the nights lengthen, leading to a variety of paranormal and life-threatening events.
The The Antiquarian Association succeeds in killing Auril, Ice Witch , preventing her from sustaining the darkness. It remains to be seen whether it will abate over time, or if the ecological damage continues.

Sepphek Kaltro engages in a series of monthly murders across Kalte . Katelynn draws the connection and enlists the The Antiquarian Association to investigate. They investigate and confront Sepphek Kaltro , and Sepphek Kaltro is killed in the ensuing combat.
The The Antiquarian Association are awoken in the middle of the night by the birth of a slaad at Jacob's Well . Over the course of days, the residents band together to hunt down and kill the foul creature.

The The Antiquarian Association arrives in Port Bax just in time to catch the last boat heading to Kalte . They have brief discussions with Nithewin before departing. The trip takes three weeks as they travel across the Kaltesee and arrive in Ljuk .
The Four Dwarves hire The Antiquarian Association to recover their shipment of iron they had to abandon. The party finds that the ingots were taken by a group of Szall, Giak subrace s and negotiate an agreement where they deliver food in exchange for the iron.
The The Antiquarian Association spends a short time in Termalaine . The discover from Oarus Masthew that lavas have seized the local mine. After discussing it with the miners, the group ventures into the mine, both driving off the Lava s and a creature that had arisen from the caverns far below.
The Antiquarian Association is robbed when they stop for the evening at Caer-Konig . They pursue the thieves to Aluksha, The Absent Fortress , and with the help of Speaker Trovus , dispatch them all.
The Antiquarian Association journeys to The Black Cabin to check on Father Johnathon MacReadus . They find him dead, but recover the Summer Star . They are attacked by Cold Light Walker s after sundown led by an Ice Witches of Kalte . She is slain in the encounter, and the party departs the cabin for Ljuk.
At the urging of Sheriff Indra Arlaggth , The Antiquarian Association travels south from Easthaven looking for four missing fishers. They find that the fishers have been captured and consumed by a Hag in the icy caverns along the coast. The Antiquarian Association slay the Hag and her minions and explore the caverns finding old archeological artifacts of past giant and Drodarin, or dwarf civilizations of Kalte . In addition, they recover a Cauldron of Plenty .
While the The Antiquarian Association rests, Durth Solderth and his companions successfully burgle the Town Hall of Easthaven . Zizi follows their tracks to their hideout at the Easthaven Ferry , and the The Antiquarian Association captures them.
The The Antiquarian Association journeys northeast of Easthaven , seeking the source of headaches being suffered by some of the Easthaven populace. They discover alien entities in a crashed flying ship. They barter with the Illithid , offering up Dante 's Psi-Crystal in return for an alien prisoner and two magical items. Following their agreement, the Illithid depart in their ship.
Rinaldo Walker holds a seance in The White Lady Inn to speak with the White Lady, a local spiritual legend. Rinaldo appears possessed, and shares some tidbits of knowledge.
The Antiquarian Association explores The Lost Spire in the Hrod Basin. They discover, and dispatch a simulacrum of Dzaan and Wrigley , his undead bodyguard.
Just outside of Good Mead , a giant steals a mead shipment destined for Easthaven , killing Speaker Kamalik Rialbarrow in the process.
The Antiquarian Association tracks down the giant, and kill him and his troll allies. They recover the mead, several farm animals, and return them all to Good Mead .
The Antiquarian Association enter Lonelywood and find that the town is in dire straits. They make arrangements with Nimsey Huddle to provide the use of their Cauldron of Plenty to help the town avoid starvation issues.
When Nimsey Huddle tells them about their issues with a large white moose attacking local loggers. The Antiquarian Association , with the assistance of Chwinga follow the moose to the Ancient Elven Moondial . There they face the moose and Millicent .
She flees, but the group recovers all archeological artifacts from the site, and dispatch the moose. They return to Lonelywood where Millicent conducts an ill-advised attacks a few days later and perishes.
While in the prison of Easthaven , Durth Solderth is visited by a duergar soldier of the New Dwarven Empire of Kalte . Ostensibly, the soldier is there to reassure Durth Solderth , but the telepath realizes the soldier is Klondorn in disquise.
After consideration, he shares his suspicions with the The Antiquarian Association .
Dax leaves the The Antiquarian Association in Easthaven to attend to personal business. He rejoins the group in Termalaine a little over a month later.
The Antiquarian Association returns to Ljuk and retrieves the now completed Summer Star from Linus Tully . They test it in the plains between Ljuk and Caer-Konig , drawing the attention of Auril and the Szall, Giak subrace s of Karkolohk .
The Antiquarian Association allies with the Szall, Giak subrace s of Karkolohk . They organize an ambush and fall upon Klondorn at Jarlmoot .
They slay him and discover that Klondorn was not only Tiki-Tiki in disguise, but a devil himself.
The Antiquarian Association approaches Durth Solderth at the jail in Easthaven . They report their discovery that Klondorn was in fact a spined devil.
After a long discussion, the group requests that Indra Arlaggth release Durth Solderth to their custody. Durth Solderth will enter Sunblight Fortress and pacify his father.
The party delivers him to Sunblight Fortress where he leads a coup, ending in the destruction of the smithy, the death of Xardorok Solderth , and the departure of the Chardelyn Dragon . The Antiquarian Association destroys the Chardelyn Dragon on the tundra just outside of Sunblight Fortress .
The The Antiquarian Association displays the effect of the Summer Star to its creators. The next day, at the behest of Duvessa Shane , they trigger the Summer Star over Ljuk .
Duvessa Shane proclaims that Ljuk will no longer make monthly sacrifices to Auril .
The Antiquarian Association leaves from Easthaven to call upon Caer-Dineval to investigate rumors of Demonology, and follow up on a request from Cora Mulphoon to check on her son, Harold Mulphoon .
They approach the Caer after dark on April 29, and are turned away by the guards. That evening, Dax sneaks in and converses with Avarice .
The next day, The Antiquarian Association approaches the Caer again. There they speak with Crannoc Siever , Avarice ,Hethyl Arkorran and Kadroth . After conversing, the denizens of the keep send them away.
The Antiquarian Association and Velynne Harpell embark to Island of Solstice to seek Kant and seek a final showdown with Auril, Ice Witch .
They slay her and recover the Codicil of White from the Fane of Auril in the lowest levels of Grym Skald .
A multitude of visitors arrive in the town of Ljuk in anticipation of the annual meeting of the Speakers from each town. The town sees a number of business transactions, and jubilation over the story that the The Antiquarian Association has slain Auril, Ice Witch .
The speaker from Dougan's Hole is conspicuously absent. Nimsey Huddle reports that the Lonelywood contingent passed by Dougan's Hole on their way to the meeting and saw no activity.
The council meeting itself proceeds with little drama. All speakers agree to stop submitting sacrifices to Auril . Naerth Maxildanarr makes a radical proposal to move the primary port of Kalte to Easthaven .
The Antiquarian Association passes through Dougan's Hole on their way to Viad Glaciar. Following news of the Dougan's Hole speaker not attending the Kalte Speaker's Conference of MS 5097 , they stop in to investigate.
They find everyone dead, at the Twenty Stones of Thruun.
The The Antiquarian Association accompanies Velynne Harpell to the Viad Glacier.
Velynne Harpell , using the ancient magic of the Codicil of White , cracks the ice of the Viad Glacier exposing the cavernous path to Ythryn . This results in a large crack in the glacier runnnig from south to north and leading 100s of feet below the surrounding ground level.
The Antiquarian Association descends into the caves exposed by using the Codicil of White . They travel ever deeper into the ice, encountering gnhulkin and an Illthyri, Shianti subrace scouting party. Fearing the return of the Illthyri, Shianti subrace main force, The Antiquarian Association and Velynne Harpell move quickly through the caves and descend through the darkness into Ythryn itself.
Exiting the Caves of Hunger, the The Antiquarian Association , Velynne Harpell , and Hist entered the long buried city of Ythryn .
They discovered an abandoned city inhabited by Nothic s, and Thalmuud with a central spire surrounded by an impenetrable shield. Through exploration, Velynne Harpell and Leviticus contracted Gnothic Blight . Working against the clock, they learned the ritual necessary to penetrate the shield and enter the central spire.
There, they negotiated with Iorlanthas and convinced him that they wished to help restore the city. To do so, they would remove the Ebony Spindle from the environs, and then return to intiate the mythallar that would raise the city once again. Instead, they recovered the Ebony Spindle and fled, to share the story of Ythryn with the Temple of Forsett and the Magician's Guild of Toran .
