Astrid is the eldest child of Asger Jorikson and his wife Inga Ivardotr. In her 15th year, her father named her his official heir to the title of jarl.

Astrid is a comely young woman with a fairly small frame for her age. She has blonde hair, which she wears short, and bright, mischevious, blue eyes. Stronger than she looks.Biography
Astrid was born in Buskagar the 15th year of her father's reign as Jarl. Asger was disappointed that she was not a boy and was not very careful with her at first. Handing her back to Inga, he nearly left the room without naming her. Inga stopped him, and demanded that Asger name her. This is apparently the only time Asger has ever been fearful of his wife. He opted for the first thing that came to his mind, his mother's name. Astrid grew up in Lejre, the great hall of Buskagar. Nearly five years after she was born, her mother gave birth to a second daughter, Embla. Three years later, her brother Ignar Asgerson was born, an event deemed important enough to warrent a visit from her uncle, king Ingvar Ivarson. During his time in Buskagar, Ingvar gifted his 7-year-old neice with an opal dagger taken from the hoard of Rauðrherja, a dragon he had killed earlier that same year. Over the next 7 years, Astrid's mother, Inga, would give birth to two more children, her second brother Gunter and her second sister Brünhild, but while awaiting the birth of her third sister Borghild, her father was nearly killed in a bear hunt. His life was saved by a young acolyte of Buskagar’s Sect of the Cult of Thór named Gunnar. Asger rewarded the young man by naming him an alle of his court. Since entering her father's service, Gunnar and Astrid have formed a strong friendship; with Astrid often leading her siblings in co-ordinated attacks on their father's new bodyguard. The Party first encountered Astrid the morning after the wedding of Haleth and Ulfjolt, attempting to get the better of Gunnar while he was both wounded and eating breakfast. Together with her brothers, she was able to finally get the young alle on his back for the first time. Upon Gunnar volunteering to go on a quest to free Ulfjolt Ragison from an amber prison, Astrid gave Gunnar her opal dagger as a way to possibly curry favor with her uncle, King Ingvar Ivarson, should they meet. On the morning of her father's departure for raiding season, Asger named Astrid as the heir to his Jarldom.Relationships
