House Holhawk

House Holhawk has existed upon Aelaes since 217 CE, and since then has remained a large and robust figure in the Aelaen noble circuit. The Holhawks can trace their line back to the first humans settling in Gliomerea in 366 CE, and there are rumors of even being affiliated with Luxon nobility. By the most reliable of accounts, the Holhawks have been a noble family since 540 CE on Luxos, though there are some who speculate that there was embellishments on their records in 197 CE when they sought to reinforce their standing and lands.   The Holhawk territories in Thyram are arguably the largest among the Aelaen noble houses, boasting over 250 acres of land and hundreds of people that they manage with taxes, protection, and numerous farms. The bulk of the family do not readily engage with their people, instead working through various local heads of guards and their controlled swords to police, defend, tax, and enforce their regulations. Only in Hawk's Landing do they personally oversee the population, though this is more of a glorified market and estate for their guests than a proper holding for their people as Holhawk Halls is located at the heart of Hawk's Landing. While the Holhawks do tax in excess, they do no tax into poverty for most of their fiefs and villages, aside from those that reside in the eastern outskirts nearer to the Hellish Bogs.   The Holhawk house is full of members who can readily assume control, though the most recent Baron of Holhawk has the favor of more of the populous due to his more contemporary views of human relations with orcs and tieflings. This does, however, impose some discourse with some of the older lords and elder family members who view tieflings as they once did during the Hellish Exodus. However, as the current Baron is of the main family branch, they dare not openly challenge his stance or word.   After a significant scandal involving the Baron Holhawk, his cousin, and Elia Mythelos, the barony has since passed on to his older sister Annabelle, leading her to become the first baroness in charge of the noble house in history. The baroness has since began pushing for more extensive laws to ban the hunting of the indigenous tiefling and orcs, enforcing punishments that include fines, prison, and even the stripping of estates in the more extreme cases. She is also working for several other projects to better the image and inherent stance of Thyram in general, even though it is drawing the attention of the Duke of Auganhal.
