Blackland Moutains

The mountainous region along the southwest coast of Morteron . To the west is the Godset Sea. To the east is the Onyx River. To the north are the White Hills To the south is the Frosted Sea. It is currently ruled by Vargraven family out of the capital city of Blackstone.

Geography

This is Morterons highest moutain range. Said to be created by the stone titans . These moutains are steep and have alot of bare exposed rock. In fact this bare face rocks dark color contibutes to the moutain range name as they appear black from a distance. These moutains are also rich in metallic ores especially iron. Even the Coastline Is steep with mostly cliff faces with a few scattering of collapsed beaches.
In between these high peaks is speckled with valleys that vaguely follows the blacklion river. The valleys are mostly isolated from outside force unless approached from the gray pass in the north, Demon bay in the west, or iron bay in the south. These opening also seem to funnel in winds that greatly effect climate of the valley. In winter the strong southern winds bring snow cold. However the summer bring warm and humid wind from north and west.

Ecosystem Cycles

While tha The blackland expierece all seasons, winters tend to last a little longer. Winters feature strong cold southern winds and heavy snow is common. Spring is highltited with the warmer winds coming in from the north and the snow melt cuasing minor flooding and rising river levels. Summer features warm breezes that cycle rain throught the region. The Fall features the return of colder breezes and reduced rains. Rivers are at their lowest levels at this time.

Natural Resources

These mountain are rich in metalic ores such as iron, silver, titanium, copper, aluminum. Its isolative in evironments have also made the region home to rare substances use as Onyx and Darcmetal

History

Due to is difficult terrain, isolation and polarizing climates the regions has foster unity among the Blackland peoples. Its resident are well aware that in a moment of crisis they will have to depend on each other and connot expect help from other thouse outside their peaks. However the rich and rare resources within the moutains has made blacklands a favored target of many outside forces. Thus the Blackland people have historically developed as a militant peoples. However, during the Sailous kingdom and empires this area was under strict control and would be one of the most violent areas to rebel.
