Berevsky

Berevsky is a major Bocraean city, and home to the noble House Drahoslav. It was a major point of interest during the Aswani Civil War, and in part determined the new borders between the two countries.   For many generations, Berevsky acted as a cold, dreary stronghold city who owed its existence to the trade routes that led to Veczi, and south into what is now Aswana. When Aswana declared its independence, Berevsky became a critical point - if House Drahoslav seceded along with the rebels, a land invasion of Aswana would be largely impossible. In exchange for their loyalty to the crown, Oldrich Drahoslav was betrothed to the soon-to-be queen Ilari Ctrad.

Geography

Berevsky's fortress is built on a hill overlooking the Bolotny river and the long marshlands that run south. The houses and buildings that surround it are often built on stilts to avoid sinking into the marshes.   Being the only crossing of the Bolotny, and surrounded by the difficult terrain of the marshlands, it is a key stronghold of the north, and most of the limited trade passes through the city.
