Volod
<Vohl-ahd>
Volod, its name derived from the Bocraean language's word for "cold", is the northern most duchy of Bocrae. It lies north east of the capital of Lenif, along the frigid sea and the neighboring country of Veczi.
Volod is currently controlled by House Drahoslav, under the leadership of Duke Benedict Drahoslav.
Geography
Volod is primarily vast taiga with short summers and long, harsh winters. Coniferous trees cover the landscape, and only the hardiest of plants survive the near constant presence of frost. Farming is difficult, though berries grow with relative ease, and most farmers survive by raising livestock for milk, eggs, and meat. Hunting is relatively common and quite sustainable thanks to the relative lack of humanoids living in the region.
