Cairnwoods
The Cairnwoods is the thick, unnatural forest that makes up the border between Lenif and Northern Usmina. It is an old place, steeped in magic, whose oldest trees predate any nation that exists today.
It is also known as the Angels' Vault, as it is said to have grown over the remains of angels from the time of the war of creation.
Geography
The Cairnwoods are a hilly forest that grows from the base of the Langree Heights and down into The Cradle. No rivers have run through the center of the forest in many generations, though snow melt from the mountains to the north run past it to the east and west.
The forest is strange, its grass and trees tinted red and warped into strange shapes. Some even seem to be wrapped like vines around strange bone-like protrusions from the ground.
Localized Phenomena
In the deepest parts of the Cairnwoods are bone-like protrusions that rise from the ground. These 'ribs' seem to be made from a calcite stone, providing the necessary nutrients for the hardy, long lived trees that make up the forest.
