Ociannic
<Aw-see-ann-ick>
The Ociannic people were a people of Northern Aisoa, who lived under the Ocian Empire which spanned a huge portion of the northern part of the continent.
Since the fall of the Ocian Empire in 3360 EC, Ociannic people have slowly shifted to the Lei, Bocraean, Aswani, and Vect peoples.
These cultures reflect some of the values of their Ociannic predecessors, but as a whole are largely unidentifiable from their origins.
Cultural Links
Aswani and Vect peoples are relatively similar to each other despite the divergence hundreds of years prior. They embody the independent values of the Ociannic people, as well as the darker skinned appearance of the eastern Ocian Empire. Lei and Bocraeans share a similar link of appearance, being of lighter skin and redder hair, but have diverged in culture much more heavily. When the Ocian Empire fell, the powerful nobility began fighting among themselves to claim ownership of the old empire's territory. When Lenif and Bocrae finally formed from its ashes, the culture had split. Bocrae had wrested control through combat, and its people no longer trusted the wealthy and powerful. Lenif faired somewhat better, and the Lei have more trust in their leadership - especially following the expansion of the Church of Wytris.
