A Show to Die For III

Morning comes, everyone goes into their regular morning routines, except Gothta. Gothta wakes up to find his lookout splattered all over the wall and the Hooded Man he chased down days ago sitting outside his safehouse bedroom. Head Judge Tezzeret Soltanis demands information about who Gothta is working for, and who knows about him. Through quick but terrifying analysis, Gothta realizes this foe is far outside of his league, and manages to escape with the aid of his Potion of Gaseous Form, unfortunately leaving behind most of his gear. He meets up with the rest of the party at the Rusty Bucket.   Nythin explains the full extent of Head Judge Tezzeret's influence, followed by the shocking revelation that Gothta is a criminal. This epiphany is followed by several more as Calfein & Malcys both admit to illegal dealings as well (although Malcys dulls the wound by only admitting to jaywalking). Nythin, needing time to think, opts to jog to Tolvar Unviersity for his meeting with Olivia Voldaren, an individual whom, he tells the party, has been dead for hundreds of years since her execution for treason as the Rose Monarch.   The party visits a swanky hotel suite where Minerva & Theresa Ivanova are staying. The elevator to the penthouse suite is fast to the point of causing injuries to the unprepared. Once there, they realize Gothta is still in pajamas and steal laundry from a different room (orange & pink, perfect for meeting rich folks). They enter, and Calfein quickly comes to the realization that the Ivanova's are super religious folk, and their deity Ohm, God of Light, is a poor fit for a Drow that needs to avoid sunlight. Calfein politely excuses himself, and the group depart for their meeting with Olivia, an individual they have discovered a healthy level of fear & apprehension towards.   They find Olivia, in full gym content creator mode, helping Nythin work out in his office. Nythin has been reassured that she cannot be the Olivia Voldaren he told them about, as she was executed over 700 years ago, whereas this Olivia is only in her early 20s (according to her). She has displayed a remarkable amount of interest in the expedition, and in Nythin's endless supply of history knowledge regarding past Ages. She invites the group to a Grand Ball on the continent of Respite as her guests. The party will be in a week, and she will happily cover their travel expenses. For fun, she challenges Gothta to a little sparring session. Surviving the three rounds is enough to tell Gothta how scary Olivia is, but he manages to hang in and even land a pair of blows, one of which drops Olivia on her butt. It is a considerable victory for Gothta as he hobbles away with several broken ribs to the medical building for healing.   As Olivia departs, Malcys throws a quick healing spell towards her, which stops Olivia in her tracks. She immediately turns around and questions Malcys on his status as a Cleric and his unknown God, asking where he found the symbol carried on his staff. For once, all traces of Olivia's air-headed, bubbly, and extremely flirted personality have vanished. Upon being told the holy symbol was found on Dayfal's Rock, she tells Nythin his expedition is funded, dismissing the other families and writing a check right there. She tells Nythin to cash the check in a week, after the Ball. Whatever the party needs, they shall have.   Gothta, now considerably more paranoid, spots a construct spy near a meetup point with Bargo Largo. Taking a longer way around, he warns Largo of what happened, and is told to lay low until the heat on both of them cools down. Going to Respite is a perfect choice.
