Loadout Power System

The Loadout Power System allows players to dynamically customize their characters' Loadouts using a point-based allocation system. Each piece of Gear and their Mods are assigned a specific point value based on its Power Level as determined by its overall stats.   Players can equip various combinations of equipment to create a Loadout that suits their playstyle and preferences, as long as the total point value does not exceed their Loadout Power budget. Initially, players start with 100 points to allocate as they see fit. Over time, players have the opportunity to upgrade their Loadout Power to increase their maximum loadout cap beyond 100 points or reduce the point cost of certain gear or mods. This progression system rewards players for their dedication while imposing restrictions that force strategic balancing.   The Loadout Power System encourages players to make thoughtful decisions about their gear, balancing the power and versatility of their equipment to fit within limitations. It adds a layer of challenge and strategic depth as players must consider the strengths and weaknesses of each piece of gear and how they synergize with their chosen playstyle.   Weapons are the primary source of Loadout Power points, however Mods and Armor contribute as well. Some mods and armors reduce Loadout Points as well as some player skills.

Example Loadout

  • Assault Rifle: 20 points + three damage mods worth 5 points each.
  • Rocket Launcher: 34 points + a 2 point tracking mod.
  • Longsword: 15 points.
  • Helmet: 3 points.
  • Arms: 4 points.
  • Chest: 5 points + a bonus 10 points mod.
  • Legs: 6 points + two different bonus 2 point mods.
  • Back: 4 points.
This Loadout costs exceeds the standard 100 point threshold. However, the Chest and Leg armor provides an additional 14 bonus points, so the player has a maximum of 114 points to spend.  This configuration costs 112 points, leaving 2 additional points to spare. The player could choose to equip a more powerful gear piece or stronger mods, or use the Loadout as is.
