PVP

The only PvP combat allowed in Social Spaces is in Challenger Arena. These are zones designed for friendly PvP training sessions. In open Combat areas such as Open Sectors though, player fights can quickly occur with the arrival of an enemy invader. Every 30-60 minutes, a flagged PVP invasion can occur where a solo player or a full Squadron of three players may enter an Open Sector with hostile intent.   To ensure a balanced and fair PVP experience, character Stats and Power Levels are normalized to a standard baseline during PvP interactions ensuring that the outcome relies on strategy, skill, and teamwork rather than individual gear and power disparities.   The potential calculation for this process is as follows.  

Normalization Algorithm

 
  • Identify players involved in the PvP encounter.
  • Retrieve their base character statistics (Power Level, Defense, Resistances, etc.) and equipment details.
  • Calculate the normalization factor based on the average of the participating players' base statistics.
  The normalization factor (NF) is determined by the following formula:
  NF = (Average Base Stats of All Players) / (Base Stats of Individual Player)  
  • Adjust the statistics of each player using the normalization factor.
  The normalized character stats (NCS) are calculated as follows:   NCS = Base Stats * NF  
  • Apply the normalized stats to each player for the duration of the PvP encounter.
  During PvP encounters, certain Skills, Abilities, and Buffs are temporarily adjusted to maintain balance. Skills that provide a percentage-based increase have their effects scaled based on the normalization factor.  
  • Normalize the impact of player equipment by adjusting the effective equipment level during the PvP encounter.
  The effective equipment level (EEL) is determined by scaling the original equipment level with the normalization factor:   EEL = Original Equipment Level * NF  
  • Once the PvP encounter concludes, player statistics and equipment are reverted to their original state.
