Lions of Tharrisia
The Elite of the Tharrisian Legions, the Lions of Tharrisia (Colloquially known as “The Lions”) are made up of veteran Legionaries who have been selected for exemplary service and trained even further in the martial arts. While a single Lion is a deadly opponent a small pack of them is a truly deadly group. Lions excel in small group combat, with a group of three or four Lions being said to be almost psychic in how quick they are to react to each other.
Lions are still trained in the traditional manner they have been for centuries, and are all given expensive and magically enchanted armor that protects them from gunfire. Despite this, the armor is mostly ceremonial, being worn either when stationed around the Senatus or the Imperatrice. When not performing those two public functions, the Lions mostly tend to be equipped with normal military gear and fire arms.
A large group of Lions are responsible for guarding the Tharrisian Senate and the Imperatrice or Imperatore, while others are assigned on special guard duty or in larger numbers for tough campaigns.
