The Orchid
Overview
The Orchid is an exclusive nightclub in the Lamplight District. Long ago, the club was an operahouse that was never repaired in the wake of the fall. It was the host for many shows by Reisor Semattz. Semattz took it upon himself to repair the old opera house and he purchased the rights to do so.
As time passed, it became clear that his amitions of restoring the theatre were not going to come to pass, and so he willed the property to Venus Cousard.
Venus oversaw the renovations, transforming the theatre into a dance club. When Venus became the bearer of the Brass Ring of Lanterns, he slowly phased out of management of the Orchid.
Architecture
The Orchid still retains much of its appearance as a theatre within the structure. An ornate stage and orchestra pit remains to allow for shows though much of the main floor has been converted into a dance floor and seating area for patrons. There are several bars where cocktails are vended. The mezzanine levels have been converted into seating areas for dining and observing the revelry. Private boxes can be reserved for parties as well.
The back areas of the Orchid feature a number of plush accommodations where patrons can make use of the Orchid's courtesans.
Defenses
The Orchid has a strict no weapons policy. Weapons are checked at a station near the entrance to the Orchid. Regardless of if the patron has a weapon to check, they are given a card here which bears the Orchid's logo. This card has a number of enchantments in it which can track a patron's activities within the Orchid and charge them appropriately later.
Tourism
The Orchid is a sought after club, curating the finest of artistic performances. Rumors state that the Orchid is filled with all manner of secret delights, waiting to be uncovered by those who seek. The Orchid also features headliner acts which draw many to attend. Most recently, many have come to hear the enchanting voice of Nihmia Fortunato.
