Unbroken Stone Shrine
Overview
Unbroken Stone Shrine is one of the primary places of worship to Bregoure. As it is situated within the Dust District near to the miner transportation hubs, it is regularly visited by miners on their way to work. Here they ask for Bregoure's blessing as they enter the dangerous work within the mines.
The shrine is humble and simple, less ostentatious than other temples to Bregoure through the city. However the shrine is very much an emblematic blueprint for small shrines elsewhere.
History
The shrine is named after the Unbroken Stone, the first in a series of stones that led to the discovery of the Stone of Remembrance. Legend states that miners discovered the first of these stone during a regular mining shift when a miner struck the stone with his hammer and the hammer shattered. No forged implement can break such stones, including powerful machines. These stones trailed through the earth like a mineral vein down to the Stone of Remembrance. These stones are thought to be pieces of Bregoure himself, given to mortals as a link to him. They bear no sign of breakage, cleavage, or formation, meaning (geologically speaking) that these stones were implanted there rather than forming as the result of geological phenomenon. Unbroken Stone Shrine bears the first of the stones found and regularly commission adventurers to find more of these stones in order to create more shrines. Smaller stones are often used as talismans or holy symbols.
