Matronae
The Matronae was/were a tripple goddess or trio of goddesses worshipped throughout the pre-Christian Celtic world.
As with many non-Roman deities of the era, little is known about them beyond which Roman goddess they were syncretised with. The Druids claim a continuous religious tradition dating back to the Bronze Age, but due to the lack of contemporary records, it is impossible to verify whether their beliefs are accurate to the historical Matronae.
Divine Domains
According to Druidic tradition: Magic, the Moon, childbirth, menopause, the cycle of life and death. They/She is worshipped as a mother goddess, and invoked for protection.
The Romans commonly syncretised the Matronae with Hekate, which supports the magic, moon, and cthonic aspects of Druidic worship, however this syncretism may be based entirely on both being tripple goddesses, rather than because of their having similar spheres of influence.
Divine Symbols & Sigils
In Druidic tradition: the tripple moon, oak leaves, snakes, incense, fruit.
