Personal history

Kaori Mochizuki was the desire of all men and women in the Valley of Inkoy, the Kaori family was a great one that had obtained control over the land for well over 200 years on Earth. Mochizuki grew up with a lavish and spoiled life but she did not skip on the fundamentals of a Samurai, trained by the best Masters Gems could buy in the entire Galaxy. Her skill was claimed to be second to none.   As Mochizuki grew older her family began to drift away from their own power projection methods and began marrying into other prominent clans to ensure the Kaori dynasty would survive. Mochizuki agreed with this new policy and came to believe the Old Ways of the Samurai were over. Earth was one of the Galaxy's hubs of well-trained and skilled swordsmen, if they were to keep up, they needed to evolve.    In pursuit of this goal, Mochizuki was offered to the Tentō clan's eldest son as his wife, Tentō Yagi. The Tentō Clan had the Lighting Elemental Zenkai and of the three sons, Yagi was the most appealing and the strongest, an ideal partner for Mochizuki. However, Yagi was a Traditionalist, and as the head of the family, his word was law and stood in the way of Mochizuki's progress.    In time Mochizuki came to bring Yagi one daughter, Tentō Chijimatsu, whom she cared very little for. Chijimatsu was radicalized by her father and deemed a lost cause by Mochizuki and her side of the family. As Yagi grew older, Mochizuki saw her chance to take over the Tentō family and merge it into the Kaori Clan, bringing yet another powerful Zenkai into their bloodline. Mochizuki got close to Yagi's brothers, Osada and Fujita, and slowly began to turn them on Yagi until the three of them hatched a plan to have her husband killed.    However, upon his death, two events transpired which Mochizuki had not calculated; Osada had allowed her bastard child Chijimatsu not only to live but to steal the Tentōfamily treasure, the Sora No Hikari. And, Osada and Fujita betrayed her, threatening to kill her as well. Osada mortally wounded the woman but she escaped with her life, vowing her own revenge on the Tentō Brothers.

Relationship Reasoning

Mochizuki and Yagi were only ever married to join the Tento & Kaori Clans together. Yagi, however, still sought to find some form of love in his new wife but Mochizuki was unwilling to truly be with an idealist such as Yagi. His dreams of a return to the Old Ways of Samurai are flawed and would be his own downfall.
