Currency
GEMS are not only the official currency of the Commonwealth but of the entire Universe at large, with a few exceptions like the Future War Empire who use Draka. GEMs can be recognized in three forms; coins, notes, or digital currency is known as credit. However, if arrested for a crime, the government maintains full ability to deduct the proper fine amount from your GEM bank account so many prefer to keep their GEMS on them instead.
Legislative Body
The Commonwealth Commanders are responsible for making up the Legislative body of the Commonwealth. They are not elected, in fact, the method of becoming a Commander is largely unknown and vague, with new Commanders sworn to the utmost secrecy. So much so that no more than one Commander is allowed to be on the same planet at any given time. Only 12 Commanders serve together to lead the Commonwealth with a vast network of teams and parties under them to communicate with he Universe.

Loyal But Not Obedient
The NAVY holds loyalty to the Commonwealth itself, its people, worlds, and ideals, they protect the Commonwealth and uphold Justice, without exception. The NAVY does not obey the Commonwealth Command, why should they? The Commanders are foul and reek of corruption through and through, but they also have the support of the people and maintain order and stability. Neither the NAVY nor Command really likes working with the other but they manage.
Stubborn Cooperation
The MARINES are the hardest armed branch to handle, they were the first armed force of the Commonwealth and are widely loved by the public but have a turbulent and rocky relationship with Commonwealth Command, often ignoring or defying direct orders, always in the interest of the people.
Enemies Who Simply Cannot See Each Other
The Iron Banner cannot abide by the Commonwealth's notions that ignoring or wiping out the history of the Great War will prevent another. Commonwealth Command believes that the Great War was triggered because everyone was constantly preparing for it. There is an old saying "one often meets his destiny on the road he takes to avoid it", by trying to prevent Yibbithal, the Iron Banner is only bringing it closer. Meanwhile, the Commonwealth's ignorance of the true danger of the war will doom trillions upon billions of lives.
Sword Enemies -- Show No Mercy
The Empire started off as a rebel terrorist cell within the Commonwealth and only grew to be more problematic from there. They formed an Empire based on the notion that our Universe, and all of its people, are "false", they cannot be saved and the only hope is to bring about Yibbithal to create a new and pure Universe, one where the Gods rule man, the way nature intended it to be. The Commonwealth sees the Empire as a radical and overzealous extremist group who have only survived so long because they allied themselves with the Old Gods. They and their religious doctrine are dangerous and if left to their own devices, they will be our doom.
A Plague Which Needs To Be Stamped Out
The Commonwealth Command became frighteningly aware of the danger the Barvadekar family posed with their forerunner, Ajatasatru Barvadekar who mastered the Null Eyes to the point where he could nullify pure energy, even life energy. Ajatasatru could kill men just by looking at them and nullifying their internal life energy, making him the Universe's most deadly assassin. Commonwealth Command had him hunted down and killed, but extending this command to every living member of his family, regardless of their connection to him, was too cruel. The only one who survived was the child, Cpt. Manjistha Barvadekar who swore to gut each and every last one of the cowardly common filth commanders herself.
