Dr. Lucretia Britt (born 14 March Y831) is a
Wood Elf transmutation
Wizard and professor at the
Wizarding University of the Aquatic Kingdoms. She is a leading researcher in the fields of
transmutation, xhaosanology, and
draconology, as well as one of the fabled
Heroes of Brightwater. Following the events of the
Battle of the Black Keep, she became an infamous recluse; though still a prolific researcher with over 672 publications and co-author credits to her name, she did not make a major public appearance until after the
Battle of the Opera House, when she claimed to have been rescued from captivity in the dragon's clutches by the
Dragonslayers of Cantonova and resurrected in the body of an
Aasimar.

Metamagic. Lucretia has 8 sorcery points, regained on a long rest. She can use a bonus action to convert sorcery points to spell slots or vice versa. She can use the sorcery points on the following metamagic options:
- Quickened Spell. When she casts a spell that has a casting time of 1 action, she can spend 2 sorcery points to change the casting time to 1 bonus action for this casting.
- Twinned Spell. When she cast a spell that targets only one creature and doesn't have a range of self, she can spend a number of sorcery points equal to the spell's level to target a second creature in range with the same spell (1 sorcery point if the spell is a cantrip). To be eligible, a spell must be incapable of targeting more than one creature at the spell's current level. For example, magic missile and scorching ray aren't eligible, but ray of frost and chromatic orb are.
Radiant Soul. Starting at 3rd level, you can use your action to unleash the divine energy within yourself, causing your eyes to glimmer and two luminous, incorporeal wings to sprout from your back.
Your transformation lasts for 1 minute or until you end it as a bonus action. During it, you have a flying speed of 30 feet, and once on each of your turns, you can deal 16 extra radiant damage.
Once you use this trait, you can't use it again until you finish a long rest.
Actions
Dagger. Melee or Ranged Weapon Attack: +6 to hit, reach 5 ft. or range 20/60 ft., one target. Hit: 4 (1d4 + 2) piercing damage.
Background
Lucretia Britt was born in the wealthy L'aureandos neighborhood of
Arborcítta, the eldest and only acknowledged child of silversmith
Tulio Britt
of the famed Britt jewelry family.
She married General Collatinus Tarquinito in Y1003, after which she moved with him to
Kyolondë before his deployment in the Third and Fourth Hill-Giant Crusades. In her first major publication "Tides of Chaos: Essays on Chance, the Arcane, and the Divine," she describes a curious incident in which a run-in with a master healer from a nearby temple-campus (presumably either Threnlíla-in-Lugos or
Eldanír-in-Danu) sparked her interest in formal study of the arcane.
"He had reached this state of perfection, in a way," she wrote, "...insofar as how to seek the answers. But he was stunned when I asked him how to seek the questions. I decided I wanted to spend my life learning how to seek the questions."
In later interviews, she has refused to give further details on this encounter.
Education
Britt holds a Bachelor of Magic/Master of Magic degree in transmutation with minors in divination and xhaosanology from the Wizarding University of the Aquatic Kingdoms (Y1022), a Doctor of Magical Arts degree in xhaosanology from
Hildegard University(Y1029), a Doctor of Magical Arts degree in draconology from
The University of Val-Nurem (Y1036), and a Doctor of Magical Arts degree in transmutation from the Wizarding University of the Aquatic Kingdoms (Y1051). She has held post-doctoral fellowship positions at all three of these institutions, as well as the
University of Cypruvalu and the
Academia al-Sona.
Allegations
Upon the disappearance of General Tarquinito and several of his lieutenants, Britt left
Scalados to begin her studies at WUAK. She admits this was in part due to the massive fire that engulfed General Tarquinito's estate around the same time. She denies all connections between herself, the fire, her husband's disappearance, and the Crown, despite rumors to the contrary. However, she has not returned to Scalados since the incident, nor has the Crown called for her extradition in connection with Tarquinito's disappearance or the fire.
In Y1093, Britt was arrested and charged with with the murder of Adamantian radical preacher Charmaine Acosta and four others in what local newspapers called the
"Champagne Killings." She was acquitted of all charges after the true culprit, fellow adventurer
Gepopo, confessed and was executed.
Britt's disappearance during the
Battle of the Black Keep led most to believe she had been killed by the Lich King along with her fellow adventurer Susanna te-Brigantia. Her reappearance as a co-author in J. Peter Burkbeholder's Y1001 revision of "A History of Western Magic" was seen as a prank by some in the academic community. Her subsequent Y1003 appointment to the faculty of WUAK confirmed her presence on the Material Plane.
