Valley of Andor
The Valley of Andor, or simply Andor, is located between the Andorian Mountains and Cascian Badlands to the west and Asgorath's Spine to the east.
The valley’s most notable feature is The Great Wood, which spans some three hundred (300) miles to fill the land between the mountain borders. It is also home to the Andor River, which starts far to the north and flows south to join with the Cascian River at Baeon Lake before turning eastward and forming Lake Phandel. The Fetid Swamp is also located in the valley and is known to be a particularly large and dangerous swamp land.
The most prominent settlement in the region is the fortress-mine of Phandelver. This fortified settlement is the central seat of power for the Draconian armies of Pyros, The Dawn Fire. Phandelver is overseen by General Scathe. The town is the most industrialized of any in the region, possessing great smelting and forging facilities as well as a lumber mill, windmill, and dock. The mine itself is a rich source of a variety of raw ore.
Other notable settlements include the village of Orin's Keep, Rald’s Keep, and Thundertree.
Geography
Largely forested, with occasional areas of hilly terrain. The region is also divided by two prominent rivers, the Andor River, which starts in the northeast, near the foot of The Spine of Asgorath, and Cascian River, which begins in the Cascian Badlands to the northwest.
The region also contains the Fetid Swamp, which is a large swamp forest with extremely treacherous terrain that sits mostly between the two rivers, just north of Baeon Lake.
