Les Gardes de la Manche
Les Gardes de la Manche (Gothique: Guards of the Sleeve) are an elite detachment of Les Gardes-du-Corps, so called because they stand so close to La Reine Melisende as to brush her sleeves. They are her intimate bodyguards, seldom far from the Queen and willing to give their lives without a moment's hesitation.
