The most celebrated portrait-maker of the Nidari Reach and its surrounds, the Lightcager works in a unique medium, capturing images of reality into perfect three-dimensional images. A master of light and shadow, style, dress, and posing, she produces the most exquisite work for aristocrats, rulers, and the wealthy in return for handsome financial compensation. And to most, her identity is unknown.
the Lightcager is, in fact, Oomuri, a fish-tailed anglerfish-infused outcast from the mysterious deeps of the Reach.

Physical Description
Body Features
- mermaid-form, with lobe-shaped fin in place of feet
- long, sharp, needle-thin teeth
- immaterial light-giving "lure" that hovers above and in front of her head - not attached by a stalk, however.
Special abilities
- able to breathe underwater and travel to great depths; fast and tireless swimmer.
- extremely good vision in low-light conditions
- glowing lure can flash very brightly - enough to blind - and can also create secondary floating lights of different colours and brightnesses that can be used as light-sources. these are abilities that quite a few deeps-dwellers can use
- using carefully-constructed and enchanted skin-and-bone "cages", she can capture hologram-like 3d light-sculptures which can then be projected later. these replicate exactly the appearance of a certain volume of space, either at life-size or smaller/larger, although they cannot be physically touched. whilst more primitive versions are created by other deep-dwellers, she is vastly more accomplished than any before in both the technical elements and the artistic vision.

Personal history
- born and developed her art in the deeps of the Nidari Reach, and possibly became known for it there. However, she also had a life as some sort of academic/researcher - doing what?
- exiled from the Deeps - possibly for exposing some scandal with her cages after being stiffed on payment by a client
- at some point, partnered up with Ojil the Bamboo-crafter.
- now a mysterious and exclusive image-taker for the various wealthy elites in and around the Reach, built up with a few well-chosen stunts into a much-desired anonymous artist.

- Gallery of Places in The Giteri, with scaled down images of vast panoramas taken in lands from Emshol to the Blackpowder Coast (a particular favourite of hers). A tourist attraction offering the sights of the world in one location, built near several large cities.
- several stage backdrops for Hahemir's Fabulists and Wits.
- family portraits of the Aspirants of both the Eastern Giterikin League and the Western Giterikin House, which triggered a whole craze for such renderings among the various Kinma.
- renderings of famous and beautiful people for unspecified uses in far-away Oboth.
- decorative friezes of staged "everyday" scenes around the Commonwealth of Reld, displayed in the Capitol.
- images of several members of the Mercantile Board of Errezo and the Blackpowder Coast merchant-nobles for their private residences.
