Klini (klini)
Originating in Tcha, the Klini are culturally, linguistically, and genetically cousins to the ethnic Daoshi of Dhaoshee. The Klini are the second largest ethnic group among the resident Human peoples of Dhaoshee. Although the ethnic Daoshi are spread throughout Dhaoshee (and the regions around it), the Klini are largely confined to the foothills, central steppeland, and the mountains of the sacred Solvyod fiefs.
The Klini language is very similar and largely mutually intelligible with Daoshi. Although because the Daoshi language lacks rhotic consonants, the emitic name of the Klini—Tchaikréni—is not phonetically possible for native speakers of Daoshi. Klini is derived from a truncation of (Tchai)krén with the R replaced by an L.
Indeed, the region of Tcha that birthed the tribes of the Klini, is called (the) Tcha-Ikreen /ʧɑjikrɛːn/ (or merely Ikreen /ikrɛːn/), hence the genitive, "Tchaikréni" for "people of the Tcha-Ikreen." In Dhaoshee, most Tchaikréni code switch between Daoshi and Daoshi-Klini and self-identify to outsiders as "Klini."
