Tzolgarin (ʦolxɑrin)
Thus far each of the Tzolgarin Dynasts have assumed the same hereditary title and name upon being coronated the ruler of the Tzolgarin Kingdom of Ys. House Tzolagar claims to be related to the prominent house of Cheotl for whom the capital city of Ys, Cheotlin, is named. This connection has never been challenged or disputed given that it is mutually beneficial: the dynasts get to claim their ancestral legitimacy and trace it back to the Tlatotlys settlers, and house Cheotl continues to remain powerful and relevant in Yssian politics, despite having been deposed by the first Drennón Tzolagar. There have been five Drennón Tzolagars thus far. Rumored that the line of Tzolagars have been in fact one extremely long-lived person masquerading as subsequent generations. Drennón I was said to be an ally or perhaps disciple of yeath-Qh’en dāQa the successful anarch of the Second Qh’énnish Rebellion that lead to the end of The Callessai empire in the northern Qh'énnshaiyn region. Many offshoots of House Cheotl had been prominent there.

The genitive form of the House Tzolagar is used as a title for the regnant Tzolgarin Dynasts. This makes the official country name, the Tzolgarin Kingdom of Ys, a tautology if the rough equivalent title would be king (something like, "The King of Ys' Kingdom"). However, it is better approximated as emperor or high-king, or in Qh'énnish terms, Karreth.
However, given that the proclamations and official histories of House Tzolagar extol its humble beginnings, "king" is the preferred generic title. Drennón Tzolagar—all five of them—has always maintained a man-of-the-people, ascendant peasant, role among the populace having come from very humble beginnings in the streets and gutters of Cheotlin.
