OttD Session 15: The death of a demigod

General Summary

The party is still in combat from Session 14: 36 seconds of warfare. Zerrof and Zorkul Clalthicul arrive, joining the fray. During the fight, Vun Roade is knocked unconscious by a lightning bolt.
Upon his death, Zosiel explodes and Penguin begins to glow with a strange red light. He spends the remainder of the combat entranced by this state of affairs. After the fighting, Mama Bear escorts Vun Roade to an infirmary at The Window. Meanwhile, Pestle is looting the pyramid. He spots and avoids some traps guarding the sarcophagus, and emerges with a strange spear. The spear was covered in dust, and yet still dripping blood as if it had recently been used. The hilt bears engravings of bloody spearheads, but it otherwise appears ordinary. However, upon seeing the spear, Dave begins chanting the following over and over and over:
"During those days people will seek death but will not find it; they will long to die, but death will elude them." For some time, Pestle is unable to say anything other than this. Zerrof, meanwhile, asks Mazu what is going on with Penguin and learns that he has recovered the Kenku's "Sparks" that were stolen by the Dukes of Air. Penguin eventually manages to return these to his people, and produces an enormous flash of light while doing so.
Pestle, now recovered, shows the spear to everyone still present. Zerrof attempts to identify it, and Mazu appears to recoil from the spear in terror. Zerrof does not learn the exact nature of the spear, but is convinced it is exceedingly dangerous and drops it. Much debate follows, including a proposal by Zerrof to simply chuck it into the astral sea, but Pestle decides to hold on to it until its true nature can be determined.
After this, they investigate the destroyed Temple of the Four Winds, but do not find much of note in the building. Zerrof does hold on to some religious texts to consult later. After this, Pestle, Thulmir, and Zerrof conspire to knock four very large golden plates down from the top of the pyramid. These are stored in the Church of the Broken Wing for safe keeping.
