Mazu
Mazu is the daughter of Persana who created the tritons out of the enchanted water from the elemental plane of water. She is usually depicted as a lithe triton with deep blue skin, multi colored shell armor and a trident. Her holy symbol is a golden trident erupting from the water.
Like her father Persana she concerns herself with the protection and well being of the Tritons. Her focus is mainly on preparedness against the dangers of the ocean and the monsters of the sea. Her worshipers are focused on more militaristic arts taking it upon themselves to protect the world from the primordial evils. She was turned mortal during the The Age of Mortality, but subsequently was awarded her own immortality back for her service on the fields of Ragnarok. She also married one of her most ardent followers, Zerrof, which has proven a fairly controversial move.

Personal history
When The Shattering began, it began in Elemental Plane of Water. Mazu's father, Persana was slain before anyone in Neprius knew an attack was happening. When an army of primordials arrived Mazu, in fear for her life, deserted her followers in the city and hid in Zerrof, turning him to stone in the process. Because of this she was able to survive, but she is still haunted by guilt from her actions. She is plagued by the idea that perhaps, had she stood and fought, she could have stopped the invasion before it went on to kill so many other gods.
