Santar (SAHN-tar)

Santar is a region of Zantor, bordering the Kingdom of Bartol. Santar is located north of the East March, between Bayern and the Eastern Ocean.
While considered by many to be part of Bartol, the rulers of the lands of Santar are not sworn to the direct service of the Golden Throne of Bartol. Instead, they are seen as "protectors" of the lands they rule, in alliance with Bartol. This is why Santar is sometimes referred to as the "Protectorate of Santar", though almost always only by those in Bartol itself.
