Clay

Clay is a doppelganger criminal and mercenary predominantly found in the lower planes. A master of disguise and intrigue, Clay is well known to the nefarious elements of the lower realms such as Fjandmar. Capable of shifting their form into any other living with and possessing a low level telepathic ability, Clay has earned a reputation for daring heists and is supposidly wanted by the entire Nine Hells and Abyss.
The shapeshifter has been hiding out in Gehenna for an unknown period of time, working alongside the elemental emporium and becoming known to Titos and other residents of the Briar and Brimstone. 
Clay joined forces with Doomed 2 Die at the request of Val in exchange for the party helping finish his heist of a Gitonese Obol held as booty in Corpsegate. The shapeshifter aided the party in infiltrating the Tower of the Arcanoloths and killing Hundvar.

Personal history

Clay's true history and age is unknown. According to the Orthon's dossier found by Einar, Clay is wanted by powerful figures from around the lower planes. Fjandmar claimes Clay is the best criminal he has ever seen, and can infiltrate anywhere. The orthon's dossier claims that clay is wanted by all the arch-dukes of hell for espionage and selling their secrets with rumours even the demon lords want, "the changer dead."

"A creature of admiration, this one hides in plain sight, a perfect ambusher. They could be your ally, a friend, a master. Yet in truth they are a creature of nothingness, a material that can mould itself to anyone."

The Orthon's Dossier

Clay first appeared to Doomed 2 Die when they were investigating the Orthon in Gehenna. Hiding behind a rock, Val and Falia came across the shapeshifter, who recognised Val's abilities and willingly showed him information about the orthon's lair. Fjandmar later mentioned Clay to the party when discussing his plan to infiltrate Hundvar's tower and break into the tower of the arcanoloths, saying he would be, "a key asset for infiltration and stealing."
Learning Clay was in Corpsegate, the party gained the doppelganger's attention by particiapting in an arena fight at the Cavaneer's Pit, fending off three umber hulks. Clay happily offered to join the group 'gratis' if they helped him conclude his mission of regaining a pricelss obol stolen by the Dread Pirates.
