Session Two 12/5/23
General Summary
Characters Present: Darfin (Tim M), Zavania (Alyssa), Redla (Melissa), Kasari (Lou), & Finkelstein (Tim D)
Upon entering the settlement, the party was greeted by its inhabitants, the Kobolds – small reptilian folk resembling their dragon ancestors. The curious Kobolds bombarded the party with questions until Elder Runara, the leader of Dragons Rest, approached, welcoming them warmly. While being welcomed, cries for help were heard from two locals, Blepp and Tarak, being chased by the previously ignored Drowned Zombies. Combat ensued, and the players defeated the zombies.
Elder Runara provided information about the true source of the zombies, a cursed shipwreck on the north side of the isle. Choosing to journey by land, the party was ambushed by Kobold Renegades. Interrogating a captured Kobold revealed their rejection of Runara's teachings and their allegiance to Sparkrender, a dragon at Clifftop Observatory. After obtaining information, the party gruesomely executed the Kobold and was approached by Danny The Wandering Merchant. Danny sent them on a quest to retrieve an owlbear egg from an abandoned house nearby. The party succeeded, acquiring an owlbear pet. Darfin obtained a whistle to control the owlbear. Exploring the house, they found a ritual scene and a letter by a male tiefling attempting to resurrect his wife in the name of Sparkrender. The ritual went wrong, leading to the tiefling's demise. Kasari had a strong negative reaction, receiving the frightened status effect. Finkelstein found a dragon slayer long sword in the abandoned house.
