Grandmother Gretel, Witch Queen of Winter

Witch Queen of Winter Gretel (a.k.a. the Gold Multiversal Knight, Grandmother of Witches)

Gretel and her twin brother, Hansel, were born in the Land of Oz, secret children of Boq, the Tin Man and Nessarose, the Wicked Witch of the East. Nessarose, though, saw many challanges to her rule of Munchkinland, and she thought that children with one, would be another, so she had her children stolen away to another realm.
Until the age of 10, Hansel and Gretel were raised by a wood cutter that they simply knew as "Father" in the Kingdom of Wunschire. When they were ten he sold them to the Blind Witch for drinking money. Gretel allowed her brother to escape and get help as she stayed behind in the clutches of the witch. The witch soon discovered some magic hidden in Gretel that she did not know was there, the witch lineage of her mother. The Blind Witch sold Gretel to a cult the Feywild who was looking to use inherited magic to resurrect the great dark fairy, Maleficent.   After running from the Blind Witch, Hansel recruited the help of prince and paladin, Phillip of Endormia, but upon inspecting the cabin of the Blind Witch, the teleportation circle sent the prince into the Feywild. Hansel went back to the palace of Endormia for more help, where Princess Aurora agreed to go and find Gretel and her husband. Aurora recruited the help of her friend and fellow princess, Cinderella for the adventure. After traveling across the Feywild, the trio, with the help of Jack the Giant Slayer, were able to rescue not only Phillip, but Gretel from the clutches of the Cult of Maleficent. Gretel and Phillip, were forever touched by the Feywild, however.   Gretel and Hansel would go on to become witch hunters, seeking to find the Blind Witch. Along their journeys, Gretel taught herself magic, becoming a sorceress. The duo made quite the name for themselves, traveling the Realm of Happily Ever After and hunting monsters and witches. One day when they were around the age of 21, Gretel and Hansel encountered the witch Madam Mim in the Kingdom of Enchancia. Mim cast a powerful transfiguration spell to get away, fusing the twins into one being, sharing one body.   The twins thought that the Djinn of Agrabah would be the best bet of undoing this spell, so they traveled to the great city. While on their way they were stopped in the desert by the image of Lady Rayvona, who told the twins that she could help them to separate if they were to become Multiversal Rangers. They accepted, making Gretel the Gold Ranger and Hansel the Silver Ranger.
Gretel and Hansel traveled many realms with their fellow rangers and were finally split by Frigga in the Realm of Marvels. In this moment, however, Baba Yaga, grabbed Hansel and pulled him into the Feywild to join her The Defenders of the Fae in the war against Sevalith.
Gretel would reunite with her brother again in Winter. Here they found themselves becoming truly more different than they had ever been, with Hansel now wielding a metal arm and Gretel becoming a Hexblood, giving in to her fey heritage. The rangers would go on to help end the war between the vampires of Sevalith and the fairies of the Feywild. At the conclusion of the war, Gretel was given the great honor of becoming the final apprentice of Baba Yaga, being given the title Mother of Witches, since Baba is the Grandmother of Witches.
In the following years, Gretel parted from her friends and traveled the lands with her aunt, Elphaba, the Witch of the West, honing her prowess as a great witch. Gretel's first "daughter" was a witch known as Maera Bloodgood, but Elphaba noticed that Maera began to practice the magic of Mombi, magic that would earn the coven the title "Wicked" in Oz. Gretel cast out her daughter. During this time Gretel Jade was born and named after Gretel.   This led Gretel to recruit three new witches: Nazula Silverstream, Nihil Grimtruffle, and Caribbea Seastorm, officially forming her Coven of Breadcrumbs. She tested the three witches first with a mystery in the Munchkin Country of Oz. After discovering that Maera was behind the mystery, Gretel sent her coven daughters to the Realm of Happily Ever After to confront her. A series of mistakes and difficult decisions by her daughters would lead them to release souls which the legendary Morgan le Fay had trapped, resurrecting many dead famous witches, including Gretel's own mother, Nessarose, the Wicked Witch of the East.   These events would lead to a Council of Covens and then the infamous Feywild War of the Witches. During the Council of Covens, Caribbea decided to leave Gretel's coven and join her patron, Ursula the Sea Witch, in the Coven of Sea Witches. In her place, Gretel welcomed her niece, Barbie the Bard, into the coven.   During the final hours of the War of the Witches, Gretel's daughters disconnected Morgan from the Black Fairy Diamond and connected Gretel to it, making her the defacto new Queen of the Court of Shadow once Morgan was destroyed.
In a meeting of the Court of Stars that would become known as the end of the War of the Witches and the beginning of the Fifth Age of the Feywild it was decided that the Court of Shadow would be once again combined with the Winter Court, making Gretel the new Queen of Winter. With this new title Gretel passed her title in Oz, Witch of the East, to her niece, Barbie.
