Mayriam (May-Ree-Am)

Physical Description
General Physical Condition
Mayriam is a medium sized adult dragon. They have thick scales and their head is adorned with many horns- their primary pair being straight, and secondary pair curled toward their snout. An array of smaller horns frame their face, as well as having a long nasal horn.

Employment
Mayriam works as a Draconic Languages consultant, primarily for the fields of translation and historical research. While they are a freelancer, they often perform contract work for the Nottingham's State Museum of Humanoid History, often translating old draconic records. Due to their repeated work, Mayriam has permanent clearance in the museum whenever they visit, be it for work or pleasure.

They greatly enjoy seafood of all kinds, and will often travel quite far to many of New York's fish markets on a whim when hungry.

Family Ties
Mayriam was previously a stag, however in recent years has shifted to being a non-competitive dragon, having settled with another dragon, Mercurion, as a repeated seasonal mate. Mercurion, however, remains a stag, despite his relationship with Mayriam. Their relationship is a bit of an odd one among dragons, as May will often form close bonds with Mercurion's other mates, though only seasonally and remains his primary mate. They both have had hatchlings in the past, with one another and other partners, though currently have an empty nest. All of Mayriam's children have long since fledged and gone off into the world on their own.

Mayriam is neutral on the gods and beliefs of dragons, not falling into either camp.
Social Aptitude
Although typically quiet, Mayriam is quite opinionated about their work. While understanding of the theories and beliefs of others in their field, they take on a steady and immovable stance that not all things can and will be answered, due to the fluidity of language. This can be of much frustration to some of their colleagues, who often take their point of view to mean laziness on their part.
Hobbies & Pets
As Mayriam mostly works from their own home, they have a wide array of hobbies between jobs. Their most recent avid hobbies have been gardening, collecting butterflies, and polishing stones.

History
Mayriam and Lorenzo have worked together many times in the past, as their specialties frequently intersect. While not particularly friends, or even friendly in their debates, the pair do have a shared respect for one another as fellow linguists. Despite this, they both heavily disagree about their respective fields and any and all debates between the two can be quite heated.
