Vega's Footprints

Geography

Vega's Footprints is a long chain of extinct volcanoes in the Pacific Ocean, rumored to have been created by the god of fire as way of reaching the Shanin Islands long before the current arrangement of the world, that have sunk back into the ocean and become a long chain of coral reefs.

Ecosystem

The system is home to a massive variety of oceanic reef fish, sharks, dolphins, and invertebrates such as corals, shellfish, octopi, and rays. Due to the area being relatively shallow around the reefs themselves, it is often used by dolphins and whales as a spawning ground.

Ecosystem Cycles

On full moons, the corals will spawn in the dead of night, releasing thousands of eggs that quickly become prey to the system's local inhabitants, creating a regular cycle of fish and invertebrates coming to the region exclusively to eat. This has resulted in the reef being a hotspot for fishing.
