2024/09/04: Battle with Necrosa Report
General Summary
Terana, Knight, Kal'vus, Buzz, Zaran
The adventurers and their friends found themselves in a grey, featureless pocket dimension. Necrosa revealed herself immediately. From behind a magical barrier she disabled the magic of several party members. The party mages put up defenses (toy wall from Buzz, shadow orb mandala from Ngel Sfet) while the fighters piled onto the barrier and shattered it. (Knight went to go check on the NPCs instead. Explanation for why their player missed the first round.) When the barrier broke, Necrosa appeared to glitch through the floor and vanish.
Round 2 was Necrosa and Terana getting into a teleporting anime duel. Humphery knocked Necrosa into the next phase. She glitched through the floor again and disappeared.
Round 3. Necrosa came back up in rusty shield of force. Summoned four kinds of meteor swarm. Buzz's toy wall made lots of terrible noises but protected him perfectly. Humphery's True MR radius came in very helpful. Ngel Sfet's shadow orb mandala held and protected Knight and the NPCs.
Kal'vus went for the shield. The shield responded by going for him in turn, tackling him to the ground like a burning net. Zaran used wish to get psionic jamming field thanks to Lume's suggestion (the party was getting telepathically spied on), then cast it. Then Terana and Humphery slashed Necrosa to pieces.
The pocket dimension started to fade. The party found themselves back outside in the concert area, but something felt very wrong. There was no way Necrosa went down that easily. The shadows and shifting from before were still there and seemed stronger than ever.
Zaran got psionic support from Lume to cast a whispering divination power through the psionic jamming. The whispers were very informative.
"This is the last Necrosa."
"The evil one is here." (apparently not referencing Necrosa)
"The frequencies don't match up!"
The entire concert was another pocket dimension. It was all fake. Before that reveal, Zaran called for divine intervention from Ao. He wanted Necrosa to get out here so he could punch her in the face. (Then he got pulled out of reality for too much meddling.)
Necrosa, definitely out of her own free will, dismissed the illusion and went trueform. She'd been hiding as a youngish woman in a suit in the backstage area. That woman who the party talked to all those days back in a warehouse was her.
She monologued. Mk. III godslayer prototype. Equivalent to a lesser god. It's one of the old prototypes that she had to dig out of storage because the party has reduced her resources so much.
Humphery gets yeeted. Knight explodes. Terana gets trapped in stone. Kal'vus gets thrown through dimensions.
Knight: Finds himself in pastel forest. Is in form he might have been if he lived rather than becoming a Vessel. Curving road to left and right, left brighter green, right darker green. Knight arbitrarily picked left.
Kal'vus: Slash space. Trying to slice his way back into reality. No result.
Terana tried to break the rock on her. Made some progress. Not great progress.
Ngel Sfet, both angry and terrified, stepped forward and put her shadow orb mandala up again.
Buzz used Phoenix Gate and a worldwalk portal to tell Chaz-Achk-Thuum to "hit the bitch". CAT quickly handed Terana off to Humphery and then walked out of the portal in trueform. Gave primordial lizardman roar. He's here to FIGHT.
Terana broke free thanks to CAT's help. Went to help Humphery get free from horrible flames. Humphery got free with her help.
Buzz buffed CAT. More god fighting. Knight speedran the dark path. Hopped a guard perfectly. Found a dark pool showing glimpses of the fight. Sprinted to it and jumped in. Kal'vus kept navigating his way back through dimensions through sheer willpower. Terana and Humphery returned to the fight and went for Necrosa.
CAT and Gork died. CAT's corpse managed to sweep Necrosa's legs with its tail. Knight hit the pool and started retaking control of his body. Azhar and Ngel Sfet got Knight's mask back in the mass of Void.
Terana and Humphery stabbed Necrosa in all the places.
Flash of silvery grey. Kal'vus dove back into reality on direct course for Necrosa. Grapple. Stab. Explode. Get thrown back into the air.
Then Humphery and Terana killed Necrosa and Buzz accelerated the dying with a massively empowered Ray of Salvation. CAT's corpse got up, stood in the path of the Ray of Salvation, and grabbed something out of the light. He watched Necrosa's soul fade to ash in his hand.

Ngel Sfet deserves an extra reward for her work and being such a good sport. She's being so brave! Knight will take her book-shopping at the Mountain of the Mages later.
Necrosa apparently had also been possessing an innocent woman somewhere on the premises as a safety backup, but someone (presumably "the evil one") assassinated her before the final fight.
