Xander
Xander was one of the residents of the remote mining town of Mirstone who was forcibly turned into a vampire spawn by Lord Demicus during the Hollow War. After Demicus was vanquished by Grace Velvine and Geron Solson, Xander and the others were freed from the vampire lord's control but unable to just go back to living their old lives.
Xander became the voice of reason and a symbol of leadership for the people of Mirstone as they learned to adjust to their new, cursed existence. Fortunately for Mirstone, Geron returned not long after the death of Demicus, seeking refuge after the game-changing events in the capital. Xander and Geron together were able to negotiate with Fenrain, the Elder of the nearby town of Holbeck, offering a steady supply of valuable ore and gems from the Mirstone Mines in exchange for voluntarily donated blood, just enough to keep the Mirstone vampires from being consumed by a feral bloodlust. Unlike his close friend and fellow vampire spawn, Magnus, Xander believed their people could create a sustainable life in Mirstone with the aid of Holbeck. His views were threatened when the Phoenix Chapter of the Inquisition discovered Mirstone's secret and deemed them abominations. Residents of Mirstone began disappearing, kidnapped by the Phoenix Chapter and starved into a feral state in order to make Holbeck see Mirstone as a threat. When the Party arrived in Mirstone looking for Geron, Xander requested their aid in discovering why the blood supply from Holbeck had stopped, insisting that the vampires of Mirstone were innocent and desired nothing more than to continue existing in peace. While the Party were away, Xander was briefly captured by the Phoenix Chapter, who intended to turn him feral and unleash him and his fellow prisoners on Holbeck. Fortunately but he and the others were saved by the Party and the relationship between Mirstone and Holbeck was restored. He was deeply troubled, although not fully surprised, to learn of Magnus's betrayal and ascension to true vampire.
