Vanguard Revolutionary Forces
The Vanguard Revolutionary Forces, otherwise known as Vanguard or the VRF, are arguably the most aggressive arm of the Union of Socialist Systems. Their goals are primarily aimed at assisting, training, and arming local populations in order to rise up against their oppressors. Members of the VRF have been accused of acting in conjunction with the Pacifica Liberation Front, the Dragon Resistance, and even the Be'Teu Order.
They serve the people first, and they avoid direct action unless absolutely neccessary. To even get access to a vanguard team, one must go through the diplomatic channels first, then if all else fails a VRF response team is deployed to the area in question. This does not apply for active situations where the threat of death is imminent. While they are strong, they are spread thin, and the galaxy is filled with oppression.
The Vanguard is an all volunteer force, and recruitment is tedious. Most have had years of education, and spend great time researching the varried cultural practices of their area of operation. They are picked from the best of the best that the Union has to offer, not just soldiers and spies, the Vanguard is also made up of anthropologists, scientists, and builders alike. Though usually the strike teams are made up of the most elite Union Navy forces, handpicked by the Vanguard to serve.
Structure
Vanguard forces are usually organized into highly specialized and streamlined strike teams. Each team is hand-chosen to operate in the specific galactic sector they have been assigned. Many contain a roster of all manner of specialists, hailing from parascentific researches out of Central Simulation, those with Psionic powers, or diplomats from the People's Emissary. Together, they spend years preparing the people, all while providing steady aid.
