ST2600 4: "Call It Fate, Call It Karma"
General Summary
As Nicole's plot against Cydonia expands, she reveals her identity as a SR agent to Lyra, Zhilan, and Eve. After everyone agrees to help, Edgar, Nicole, and Annabelle finish the Synch-hole malware. Zhilan and Eve copy Anita's keycard, who attempts to blackmail Lyra and Ed, trying to turn blame for the security risks towards Annabelle. Gathering at Edgar's apartment, the party faces the difficult task ahead, with Lyra upset at the possibly of being unable to enact revenge on Anita for her pressuring Adrian into receiving untested cybernetics.
After Nicole deploys Synch-hole, all seems to according to plan; however, the last-minute intervention of a legendary hacker named Whitelily hired by Anita results in the deactivation of Synchronicity's Synch-gates, stopping the spread of the malware. Forgoing an easy escape with an SR convoy, the party returns to Remus tower to deal with the problem, with Zhilan and Eve fighting off physical security forces while Ed and Annabelle neutralize Whitelily's countermeasures. In the process, both Adrian and Anita are killed.
Escaping aboard a VTOL piloted by Daiyu, the party scrambles to board the SRS Aomori, which burns to orbit. Attracting significant attention, the vessel catches the tail end of a Einstein-Rosen bridge created by the GUS Roku, faciliating safe transport to Benzaiten and beginning a new life for the abruptly-retired group, who make plans to form a band called the Pink Flamingos.
