†Aile Hallowatcher
Aile Hallowatcher
Aile Hallowatcher was a dedicated Inquisitor of Damerrich. What she lacked in memory and intelligence, she greatly made up for in her perceptiveness and raw physical strength. Trained in combat by her gladiator father Roldok the Bloody, she wielded an executioner sword with astonishing speed and precision.

Personal history
Aile was born into a life of blood and spectacle as the only confirmed daughter of the famous Roldok the Bloody, a legendary gladiator in the Galgura Colosseum . From a young age she trained both in raw strength and strength at arms by her father and though the regimen was the harshest devised any injury or failure was met with an assuring strength and care only a father could provide. Fierce in the arena and never known to show real affection for anyone, it was said in hushed whispers that the only thing Roldok loved aside from shedding blood was his precious pink haired daughter.
Of those Roldok faced in the arena, only one was ever able to keep him from victory; a man by the name of Lucius Malum, though to those who had a less then favorable view of his reputation—the Smiling Demon. Infamous in his use of underhanded tactics, cold calculating cruelty, and vicious cunning. All dealt out with a haunting smile as he inflicted whatever horrors upon his opponent. They faced each other twice in the Arena, the first just after Aile had been born which ended in a draw. Lucius had coated his weapons in a paralytic poison but was unable to put Roldok down before the latter was able to beat him into unconsciousness. The second time they met on the field of battle was just after Aile’s 12th birthday. It was long and bloody with it’s end coming when the Demon retrieved a dagger buried in the sands that was coated in the same paralytic as used in their first bout to bring Roldok down. Instead of giving the venerated warrior an honorable death in the arena, the Demon lived up to his reputation and instead crippled Roldok horrifically before leaving him to groan in the sand. All while staring with dead eyes at a young girl in the stands a large smile splitting his face from ear to ear. From then on in times of emotional discomfort, Aile could not help but smile the image of her father’s humiliation burned into her psyche. Roldok became a broken man, denied his warrior’s death and crippled to the point he could no longer even perform menial labor let alone fight in the arena he was forced to rely on his 12 year old daughter to provide for him. Though he had had a stash of gold that was being built up for his eventual retirement from the arena, this was quickly spent on treating his horrific injuries during his fight with Lucius. Eventually young Aile was forced to turn to a life of crime to keep up with expenses. Using her father’s name and training she was able to get in with a group of other disparaged youth whose main focus was robbery, though a few members would offer there skills up for assassination as well. Aile never had any interest in contract killing as it went against everything her father taught her about combat. Those that did kill for hire soon began to chafe against her superior attitude and planned to get her permanently removed from the gang by framing her for a murder. The plan almost worked were it not for the fact that the executioner sent to take Aile’s head was a devout follower of Damerrich, whom insisted on reviewing every piece of evidence and was able to capture and interrogate the other members of the gang. After Aile’s exoneration, the executioner took her aside and told her of the greatness of Damerrich and how through his teachings she had her life spared. The man offered her a place within the ranks of the Inquisitorial order, a group of specialist executioners who meted out justice in Damerrich’s name. Though she was cleared of the murder charges, she faced a litany of others and was faced with two roads in life. Become a follower of the god that had gotten her exonerated from the crime she hadn’t committed or continue her life as a criminal and face the justice of the United State of Savaan. Aile asked only one thing of the Order and that was that her father be cared for in her absence. When she officially joined the Order she was given the sur name Hallowatcher as her proof of service.
Eventually, Aile found brief work as an executioner with the Kingdom of Kessin, where she was sent out to execute three prisoners in the village of Tract. While she agreed to end the life of two of the prisoners, she couldn't in good conscious judge the third as guilty and refused to execute him. This led to a disagreement and ultimately led tp Aile temporarily subduing Kuras Silvers. Furious with her refusal of what he perceived as her duty, Silvers sent word to Kernil, and Aile was fired, leaving her destitute and in search of work.
An opportunity presented itself when Lou Freshblood and Martin Holmes passed through the city in search of support in their campaign to find Saccharine and put a stop to child abductions. After joining forces with Gobrak Ladrick-Dozkar, the party ventured back to Tract and eventuallyThe Shalelands.
Immediately upon arriving back in Tract, Aile ran afoul, again, of Silvers, who as it turned out, was a silver dragon protecting the village and Kessin by extension. Knowing she offended the dragon the last time they met, Aile surrendered herself to him and offered her services in repayment for the insult. Silvers accepted the offer and gave her three months to conclude her business and return to him.
After a long and treacherous road through the The Shalelands, where they found a guide in Ku-Bone, the party reached the Hargålthrine Forest and the village of Saccharine. An investigation of the village told the party that children were being eaten by the witches that oversaw the community, and Aile (alongside her party) confronted Gretel with the accusations. The witch denied the accusations and demanded the party leave. When they refused, the witch attacked them—ultimately killing Aile before her apparent demise.

With pink hair and a smile almost perpetually plastered on her face, Aile is a driven Inquisitor of Damerrich. Incredibly perceptive despite her general lack of intelligence, she performs her duty as specialty executioner with an insanely upbeat attitude.
