Adelaide is an
elven witch and servant of the Dancing Lady.
Description
Adelaide is a friendly enough woman, if a little bit secretive. She enthusiastically offers many trinkets and spell components for sale, which hang from her many skirts. She always travels on the back of her massive bear companion, named Bear.
Relationships
She dislikes the monks of
Spring Garden, calling them "invaders who may deserve their plight." She believes the woods they meditate in rightfully belong to the Dancing Lady.
She has sixty-three grandchildren.
History
Kapital first met her on the path to
Ixwatch, and they stopped to converse and buy charms and trinkets from her.
When asked about
Spring Garden and/or
suneater bears, she feigned ignorance and coldly added that the monks deserved their suffering for encroaching on the Dancing Lady's woods.
Suspicious of her odd mannerisms,
Oramli bluntly asked if she was a witch; she responded that answers to such questions were not worth it, and, if she was, surely she would have already been stripped of her freedom and made to serve one of the aspiring kings in
Gaes.
In exchange for information about the suneater bear, the dryad
Lothrien asked that Kapital kill two people: the witch Adelaide and the knight
Aiqus. According to Lothrien, she was a servant, not just a follower, of the Dancing Lady.
