Crimstone
In the mines of The Mountain Range, crimstone ore is abundant. This dense material is surprisingly light and insulates magic. Despite being a poor conductor of magic, many magical sources tend to gravitate towards the crimstone. As such, dangerous flora, fauna, and fungi threaten miners, causing the acquisition of crimstone to be rather difficult.
Only experienced miners with a thorough understanding of the area are allowed to gather this material. Inhaling spores released from the fungi can cause a person to lose control of their faculties. An influenced person becomes highly suggestible and unable to recognize danger. Cavern spiders, bats, and lizards can make a quick snack out of such a person. After the body has decomposed, fungi grow over the body.
Despite the danger, crimstone ore has been harvested daily from The Mountain Range starting just before the War on Magic begun. Craei Grecofoxas and a team of Asmain Scientists were able to find a way for crimstone steel to repel magic. Crimstone is used in crimsatines (a type of currency used in Orie Country), armor, and weapons for Shaca's soldiers as well as their Elite Fighters, and a Secret Project by Grecofoxas and the Order of the Grecodar.
The base of most crimstone products is lime, coke (a type of fuel), iron ore, and crimstone ore. This combination creates a dense and lightweight steel. Once formed, it's treated with a special oil solution. The low conductive qualities of crimstone decrease to an infinitesimally small amount.
To create this solution, a mountain goats with spider genes, known colloquially as Fiend Goats, are treated with chemiluminescent oils from the Borealis Cat. The milk creates a 1 : 1,000,000 dilution of the Borealis Cat's oil. The solution is strained and all webbing materials are sent to the silk factory to turn into thread.
This thread can be sold at a marked up rate for its potential magic repellent qualities. The remaining liquid is boiled down and energized with magic. The crimstone steel is flash boiled in the liquid. The resulting product repels magic.
