Belvalna
Hidden beneath dark whirling clouds of ash and smoke from above, this bleak city on the edges of the continent lies tucked within a massive caldera. Surrounded on all sides by some form of volcanic activity, the citizens here live in the true vision of the Land of Eternal Night. Most underground find a much better living environment.
Demographics
Many species of the darker races live within the walls, though it is primarily of the darker caste of elves that have been exiled that make up the majority of the population. Spread above loosely, while below extensive tunnels and long shafts make up the majority of the population centers.
Government
Ruled over with an iron fist by the leading bodies of the Monarchy. Nothing usually goes on without someone of them knowing.
Defences
Aside from being surrounded by one of the most inhospitable landscapes on the planet, the towering walls along the edges of the city line in sections of nearly 20 feet tall. Marked in sections by large towers with dark creatures watching below constantly
Industry & Trade
Industry is heavily carried out in the western tunnels. Made to carry large weapons of war to the surface that are crafted from wood, iron, and stone, these industry practices churn out weapons and military soldiers at a breakneck pace
Infrastructure
Vast tunnel and underground systems that would make any dwarf or cave dweller jealous. Covered in heavy material to line the walls, and made in a way that the frequent earthquakes do not damage or fracture anything. A large number of spinning shafts line the surface to purfying the air coming downwards.

History
Once a peaceful and bountiful settlement in Fre'nath's Valley, the long eruptions and dark clouds cursed the people to their new life. With their lot thrown in with the Blood Queen, their social status was seen as cursed for many cycles, and is to this day
Architecture
Above ground the architecture is angular and jagged with heavy black metal and coatings of ash. Below ground intricate and elaborate chambers and beautiful monoliths are carved from the soft rock and shining obsidian sediments between the glittering gemstone caverns.
Geography
Imbedded into the side of the Dragon's Spine mountains on the eastern side of the continent, the capital is buried within the edge of the massive caldera. A boiling spring of lava surrounds to the south, with impressive and towering mountains in the backdrop.
