Land of Eternal Night
Long shrouded in darkness and a long shadow from the north, the lands name come from eons of constant volcanic eruptions and darkness spread over the vast Assarian Empire. The suns and moons above are but distant stories and tales to the people who live in the shadow of the darkness above them. While only becoming heavily ashy and dark the further up, there is a long shadow that still penetrates the long standing empire to this day.
Geography
Long flat plains separated by chains of high mountains from long and distance volcanic eruptions. Rolling hills and smooth chains of rivers and sets of valleys that roll into one another, the land is widely varied and always seems to have some sort of a barrier in the horizon. While the bulk of the land is covered in a constant swath of dark clouds above from mixing of ash and storming seas, there are places where the sun does touch.
Fauna & Flora
Plants and animals of many species and families exist here in all their glory. However the main body, especially those underneath the dark clouds above, are all adapted to better see within the dark clouds above them and the long shrouded skies.
Natural Resources
Laden primarily with earthy materials and stone, the lands to the east offer the most lumber. The trees growing under the dark sky are often sickly and not as hardy as those within the heavily laden forests. The main and most prevalent resource is the vast veins of mithril beneath the land.
