Sorewood

Sorewood is a small community and trading post built along the Eastern edge of the Glassmere Thicket, and is within the Rich Banks Borough. It began as a small rest stop for travelers along the Settler's Highway, and served an important role in aiding refugees from Hellford following its destruction. Since that point, it has blossomed into a moderately sized community.

Government

Sorewood is under the Jurisdiction of the Rich Banks Borough, so much of the governing of Sorewood is left to the Rich Banks Commission. However, Sorewood does have its own government in the form of Sheriff Helena Zira.

Industry & Trade

Sorewood is sustained by travelers, who rely on Sorewood's amenities and shops to support their journeys along the Middle Pass and the Settler's Highway. A growing logging business has also brought more trade into Sorewood, and has encouraged further settlements of the lower Good Harvest Plains

History

Sorewood gets its name from the Sorewood Let-Up, a general store/inn/saloon/brothel that was the first building to be built by Dominion Settlers in this area. The Sorewood Let-Up was the entirety of the town of Sorewood for many years, but as more settlers made their way into the Valley other buildings began to pop up alongside the Let-Up, most of which were intended as services and amenities for travelers. It wasn't until after the destruction of Hellford that Sorewood became a proper town, as the Sorewood Let-Up wasn't able to accommodate all of the displaced settlers permanently.
