Quetza
This race is the offspring of the serpent Empyrean Gods or dragons, but all have a lizard or serpentine feature in their appearance. These features can be extremely varied due to the mutagenic and evolutionary process that begat the Quetza. Some may look extremely draconic and serpentine with barely humanoid features. Some may sprout wings and be able to fly like their ancestors while looking serpentine. Some others may barely look draconic or serpentine but have scales on a great portion of their body.
The Quetza always strive to be close to their ancestors, both godly and mortal, and they tend to display this reverence with the creating of gruesome art, committing blood and soul sacrifices, and engaging in a brutal warrior culture. The reason for horrendous sacrifice on such a large scale is to empower Opochtli so that her divinity can continue to reinforce the barrier around Mictlan, an open wound into the Void. If she should fail, then the Quetza firmly believe that the world as a whole will be consumed entirely by the Void.
(for the purposes of gameplay, a quetza is capable of being played as a nagaji or Vishkanya)
Basic Information
Anatomy
They tend to have a lizard or draconic faces, tails, and scales.
Genetics and Reproduction
Due to being a reptilian race their gestation and reproductive state mimic most of their processes, but they gestate around a month and grow to adulthood around 20.
Growth Rate & Stages
Quetza grows to adulthood at 20 and can reach up to 500 years. Every five years a quetza will shed its skin in a process that most find horrifying or repugnant, but it is eerily similar to a reptile shedding its skin as well. At the end of the process, a quetza looks as young, for the most part, as they did when they reached adulthood. However, those with keen sight can see the subtle signs of aging on a Quetza.
