United Commonwealth of Tolan

The United Commonwealth of Tolan, or U.C.T., is a constitutional monarchy ruled by the demi-goddess Opochtli. The U.C.T. was formed after the annihilation of the Empire of Omec, an expansive autonomous imperial colony of the Latonan Empire. During the Great Holy War, the decimation of each Omecian diety caused such a chaotic stir in the lands that it corrupted the soil of the lands to the south. Such corruption would seep more putrid, more vile, and more atrophic until what remained was nothing but the extermination of all light and aether in the southern region. Some speculate this is the main reason for such a large rip in reality to the Void.
It was only thanks to the selective breeding process that produced the Quetza that the line was able to be held for 3 months. The remaining gods of Omec sacrificed themselves, along with other gods, in order to make a shield around what is now called Mictlan. This saved not only the entire continent of Mikisow, but the world as a whole was saved by these deific sacrifices.
There remained only a young adult Opochtli, the demi-goddess daughter of the sun god Surya, to rule what remained of the Empire of Omec. She decided new dawn needed to take place for the Empire and established what is now called the United Commonwealth of Tolan. She made the U.C.T. be a meritocratic military dictatorial democracy in order to emphasize brutality and intimidation on their enemies who so wish to do battle against them. It is, for this reason, those nations of the north worry for their own nations' stability. This is due to captors, soldiers of the lowest rank, invading and capturing individuals in order to sacrifice the capture's blood and souls to empower Opochtli. This empowerment allows for Opochtli to reinforce the barriers that surround Mictlan that are occasionally showing cracks. However long these blood and soul sacrifices will allow for such ample fortification of the walls of Mictlan is unknown, and it is for this reason that the Tolan people will continue to be warmongering and celebratory warriors in every right they have earned.

Structure

The structure of the U.C.T. is led by the Huetlatoani, or Elder Speaker in Boudigian, known as Opochtli. The U.C.T. runs its local and state governments by electoral candidates that can only be voted upon by citizens that have served, or are currently serving, in the military.
