Sanctum Library

Getting to the library proves to be even more difficult than it ought be with the invasion of the twistenwud into these chambers. But if one were to get past the vines and make their way to the center of the sanctum they would find a fine stone inlay on the ground, and a softly glowing field of light above it.

Hazard: Twistenvines

These vines actively seek out their targets and attempt to ensnare them. All plantlife in this area of the map is considered difficult terrain. Moving through more than ten feet of vegetation causes it to reach out and attempt to grasp and restrain. DC 14 Wisdom save or Survival Check to avoid being restrained until cut free, and take 2d6 bludgeoning damage.

Beyond the light, the bookshelves of this library have somehow survived. Perhaps the extra layer of walls on this sanctum has stood the test of time. The books are old and worn, but some of them look to be in salvageable shape. The huge tapestries on the walls don't look quite so good. Its hard to tell what they depicted before, what a travesty.

A search of the bookshelves would turn up a number of interesting tomes that are still readable, although most are in some dialect of primordial.

DC 15 Investigation check reveals the following tomes: "Banging: The Hammer and You", "Anatomy and Musculature of Humanoids", "Great Constructs" and "Breastplate Techniques"

Galvani Manor

Tome 'Banging: The Hammer and You'

Tool

Uncommon

'Banging' is a training treatise on smithing. Anyone who devotes themselves to study using it as a guide can learn Smith's Tools by trying out the techniques included within. It'll take three months of down time to gain this new skill, and will cost 250 gp in materials that are destroyed through the process of trial and error with your banging. You'll be banging with the best of them after you are through.

Cost: 100 gp
Weight: 2 lbs.

DC 22 Investigation check will reveal a 7th level Spell Scroll of Create Magen.

Hidden between some of the books is a personal note, it seems to be slipped between "The Joy of Jewelry" which appears to be an ode to goldsmithing, and "The Soul; Lightning or Light?". When pulled out the note is written in an eloquent hand, also in Primordial.

A Hidden Missive

Dearest Ezzy,

Your designs are incredible. I know that your father in law, the Marquise, doesn't see that. But you need to keep going, he is a fool not to see your potential and I hope that you can continue your work. You are always welcome to continue your research at my tower, it was good having an apprentice for a time. You always had promise and a big heart. No wonder you've gone off with that Galvani boy, you never could resist helping a stray, even if they are nobility. I hope to see you again soon, send my best to Luis, but maybe don't show him the letter. He's fervently jealous of anyone who can outsmart him, and I fear that knowing the regard I hold you in may try his temper. My own experimentations have been going well, your design has been critical, but I've made a few adjustments myself, see the diagrams I included.

You are a light, not for your brilliance, but for your generosity. Don't let anything change that.

Signed,

Mnuxim Mopo

PS. Considering taking on another apprentice, maybe even turn this tower into a school. If you come across promising pupils, do write.

A sheet of parchment is included with a hand drawn sketch of some small spherical object made of many rings and components. It appears they are supposed to move around one another like a mobile of some sort. The purpose is not immediately clear.

Ooops, did someone take something? Those weren't tapestries at all! Note that if no one takes anything, the Travesty Tapestries will not reveal themselves and attack. But, if they witness any other wrong doing, they will gladly feast on the transgressor.

These appear to simply be tapestries that are damaged and mottled. But in truth they are massive mothlike wings, eight of them, curling and reaching around as though posing as a tapestry. A single eye opens, surrounded by sharp teeth. It sees what you have done, and now it gets to feast! Travesty Tapestries are bound not to harm people who have done nothing wrong. So they lie in wait around opportunities for people to steal, trespass, or otherwise commit a wrongdoing so that they can enact a violent justice upon them.
