Coronation of The Valonian Monarch
Once the emperor died, the heir will be called out immediately to the grand palace by the Senate to acknowledge and succeed a title. The coronation do not take place until the start of the next year to mark the new era of the Valonia Empire.
History
Kingdom Era
For the king Val, the coronation were nothing but a simple announcement to the public, the same day he retified the first manifesto. Since Valone were stil infant back then, all the civilians could gather around his house, which is now become the mausoleum.
From the king Rondius I up to Ike III, when the country had been self-sustainable, the coronation became more official like what it is nowsdays. The wealthier they got during the Age of Wealth and Peace, the more impressive ceremonies in the year followed.
For the king/emperor Valus however, he coronated twice. The first one was after the first major victory against the Empire of Kritus since his occupation. He did in the Val's tradition - quick and simple. In fact, it was rather a declaration of independence than a proper ceremony. When he succeeded his campaign in 1 VE, he took the second coronation at Knirk with Krin's tradition, along with the creation of the Eternal Star, which he moved back to install it on the Lighthouse of Valonus.
Imperial Era
The ceremony has been restored back to its golden age once again. The ring was recreated. The first emperor ever to be crowned in this era were the Rondius V, the son of Valus himself, who's still in incumbent since 25 VE.
Execution
In that day, all the guests gather at the throne room at the entrance of the grand palace which is heavily guard by the Valegions. The successor, wearing the purple paludamentum, stand still in front of the throne while a priest are putting two ceremonial items in order: The Crown of Sarton and the Ring of Val.
- The Crown of Sarton: The wreath-shaped golden crown. It's made during the reign of Sarton I. The heir can put it on anytime depending on what duties they attended, but most of the time it's stored in a personal vault.
- The Ring of Val: The Amethium ring embeded with a single Catastropium gem, it is the second ring to be made after the original was destroyed in 30 BVE. Unlike the crown, the heir must wear it for the rest of their life.
Then, six leaders of the royal families, each of who controls the empire's main institutes (Royal Research Academy, Royal Military Institute, etc), vow the heir's promises to protect, and they must accept. Afterward the heir walk to the throne and sit with both hand rested on its arms. This marks the end of the ceremony, and thus the beginning of a new era in the name of a new emperor.
Once it ends, the senate will announce the news throughout the empire via newspapers. Zeth n Legna is responsible for the distribution.
