The Eight

The Eight consists of the Father, the Mother, the Warrior, the Maid, the Smith, the Crone, the Child and the Reaper.

  Since time immemorial, The Eight have been worshipped as the Patron Deities of the Empire, in all its forms. The Eight are simply worshipped as deities, though they have few actual demands of worship, this concept has been subverted by centuries of misguided clergy. The Eight truly only wish to have their people prosper.

  The Father is depicted as a strong, powerful man typically depicted with a staff.
The Mother is depicted as a beautiful woman with round hips, dark hair and typically green eyes.
The Warrior is depicted as a powerful, armored man.
The Maid is depicted as a beautiful woman, with sultry eyes and typically blond hair.
The Smith is depicted as a bulky man with a a smith's apron with dirty calloused hands.
The Crone is depicted as a bent old woman with stringy air and one eye.
The Child is without gender and is always depicted as the most innocent child the artist can create.
The Reaper is depicted as a black shroud with a skull mask.

Divine Domains

The Eight allows access to Arcana, Order, Peace, War, Life, Forge, Knowledge, Twilight, Trickery, Grave and Death.

Divine Symbols & Sigils

An Eight Pointed Star is considered most holy. Over thousands of years, there have been countless iterations of the Star.   The Father is associated with crowns, lions, bulls and eagles. The Mother is associated with peacocks, bears and the home. The Warrior is associated with swords, helmets, wolves, dogs and horses. The Maid is associated with unicorns, rabbits, cats. The Smith is associated with hammers, tongs, a forge, displacer beasts, hydras and other odd creatures.  The Crone is associated with eye imagery, owls, snakes and other reptiles. The Child is associated with monkeys and any young creature. The Reaper is associated with skulls, crows, vultures and the undead.

Tenets of Faith

The Eight must be appeased. This requires sacrificing various objects or animals to the Eight. The religion of the Eight has existed in so many forms that very little has been consistent throughout its history.

Holidays

The 8th of every month is considered a holy day where sacrifice and reflection are required.

Divine Goals & Aspirations

The Eight fight against the Sovereign.   The Eight were fierce opponents of the Old Ones, though they are mostly believed to be childhood nightmare stories.
