Chronos
Father of Time
Chronos, the Titan of Time, is a figure shrouded in deep mystery due to the convolutions of the timeline. His existence was not known before the Second Divergence, a significant event in the Fifth Age when he emerged to repair the timeline. Scholars and sages had often postulated the existence of a Titan safeguarding time, but they had no tangible evidence of his presence. Chronos' interventions in the timeline's flow have rendered the true history of the Titan War irretrievable.
The aftermath of the Second Divergence allowed historians to piece together fragments of Chronos' story. Prior to the Titan War, he had been appointed as the guardian of time. His task was to ensure its natural flow and maintain the balance of life and death. However, upon his return from his duties, he witnessed the brutal aftermath of the Titan War - his Titan kin were either slain or incarcerated by the First Gods. Consumed by rage, he fractured the timeline, initiating the First Divergence.
The repercussions of Chronos' drastic action were far-reaching. The First Gods forgot their true identities, and an influx of new gods began to emerge. This development marked the onset of the Second Age, known as the Godswar. Thus, Chronos, although largely unseen and unheard of, played a pivotal role in shaping the epochs of Tethys and holds a place of central importance in its chronicles.
